Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) Entertainment
Día de los Muertos is a holiday that originated in Mexico and has since spread to many other countries. It is a celebration to honor the dead and is not just a Mexican version of Halloween. The distinctive make-up is done in the style of “La Calavera Catrina” or the “Dapper Skeleton” a satirical piece by the artist José Guadalupe Posada. At Twisted Orbit Circus Entertainment we strive to be sensitive to other people’s cultures and we take Dia de los Muertos very seriously. We don’t offer halloween shows with a Dia de Los Muertos theme. Our intention is to incorporate traditional music and themes into our shows as much as possible. We try to book Latinx performers, musicians and make-up artists for Day of the Dead events wherever possible as well.
We are so inspired by this beautiful tradition and would love to bring you truly any of our circus acts to your Day of the Dead events. We have beautiful stilt costumes as well as ground act costumes for Hula Hoopers, Jugglers, Cyr Wheel Artists and more. Contact us to find out how we can make your Día de Muertos event unforgettable.
